Important Information

VACCINES
The Amazon region is home to the largest biodiversity in the world, which is an invitation to explore the beauty of its rivers, forests and rich fauna. Before venturing into this beautiful region, in a preventive and non-mandatory way, we recommend immunization for the following diseases:
- Yellow fever
- Hepatitis A
- Malaria

ABOUT LUGGAGE
We recommend that you do not shop when you first arrive due to the maximum weight requirements on boats and lodges (usually 5 to 20 lbs per person). It is common to leave most of your luggage in the local representative office while you spend your days in the Amazon region. Especially if you brought different types of clothing and accessories suitable for other destinations in your Brazil package - pieces you may not even use here.

WHAT TO TAKE
To reach most lodges you need to take more than one kind of transport, one of them by boat. The transportation of luggage between one mode of transport and another, as well as their accommodation, is often done by the passenger himself, so we advise you to carry a backpack or camping backpack, with waterproof cover due to the rainy climate of the region.

One advice not to carry too much in your suitcase is to separate a set of pieces for the day and another for the night, considering the number of days of lodging. Light, fast-drying, breathable clothing best suits the climate of the Amazon.

It is important also advise about the clothing colors. Neutral colors are best suited for camouflage with the forest. This way it is harder to scare away animals that you may encounter along the way. It is recommended light green tones, shades of gray, beige, besides clothes that offer sun protection are also advised.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
- Lightweight t-shirts (dry-fit is a good option) - Long Sleeve T-Shirts - At least two pants (Cargo, tactel, polyester, nylon…) - Comfortable sneakers or trekking boots - Cap or hat - Long and comfortable socks that you can wear over the pants bar - Raincoat - Binoculars - Sunglasses - Sunscreen (or even waterproof sunscreen) - Repellent - Camera - Backpack or a good fanny pack - Scarf or scarf (Protects from the sun, insects and can wet it and use it to lower the temperature) - Waterproof bags to protect electronic equipment

IN THE HOTEL
- Flashlight - Cotton t-shirts - Jeans or cotton pants - Jacket - Shorts - Swimwear - Slipper - Sneakers or other comfortable closed shoes - Personal medications

TIPS FOR BOATS AND CRUISES
Anyone going to the Amazon will probably take a boat trip on one of the many great rivers, and we find it convenient to provide safety information. There is a strict inspection by the authorities of boats leaving and entering ports, and tourists themselves should be aware of the state of life jackets and how many people are allowed on board.
